Classes

All cooking classes are approximately 2 – 2 ½ hours in length.

Classes are mostly demonstration, but if you wish to only participate, that is great! At the end of class we all sit down together and enjoy the foods we prepared. After each class you'll take home a thoughtfully prepared packet of recipes, and the skills to show off your own delicious culinary creations!

Classes are offered at 11:00 am and 4:00 pm on Saturdays, and 11:00 am and 4:00 pm on Sundays. Space is limited in Spork Foods home kitchen, so reserve your spot as soon as possible. Each class is $65 per student. Once you have signed up for a class, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us and another e-mail with menu and class details about a week prior to the class. For a full refund you must cancel at least 3 business days prior to class. Students who cancel less than 3 days in advance will be responsible for the full class amount.

Come and meet like-minded new friends or bring along a partner to share your experience! These classes are designed for people of all ages and all cooking levels. You'll learn how to care for your health, and prepare delicious food for those you love. We will give you the knowledge and skills to be a confident cook!

To sign up for classes leave a message at (323) 284-8733 or e-mail jenny@sporkfoods.com. Please leave your name, e-mail address and phone number, along with the date and time of the class that interests you. We will get back to you to confirm availability as soon as we can!

Bios

Jenny

Jenny believes that vegan cuisine is maturing, and she wants to teach it to walk in high-heels. She creates delicious, happy-to-be-alive dishes that are only possible with organic, high-quality ingredients. She loves the challenge of taking classic non-vegan recipes and turning them into their sexier vegan counterparts. Jenny is especially interested in healing people through her cooking. She wants people to feel invigorated when they walk away from the table. She trained at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Culinary Arts in New York City, and attended UC Santa Cruz, where she earned a BA in Environmental Studies.

Heather

Heather embraced vegan cuisine while living in San Francisco ten years ago, and she hasn't looked back. Being creative is in Heather's genetic structure, as she brings her planet-friendly flair to event and party planning. In addition to Spork Foods, Heather works at an environmental nonprofit organization, where she trains and supports communities to plant and care for trees, educates the public about the environment, and works with government agencies on water issues.
